Yes – her name was Helen Fowlds, and through her private diary she shared with us, unknowingly, her vision of her world – a world at war. The diaries are presented in three section and include some pictures; they are hosted at Trent University Archives in Ontario, Canada.
Later tonight, an unrelated mental note: an old dream, to visit Positano, someday. Granted that they seem to have turned the whole Napoletan coast into some huge tourist trap, but I can’t help finding it a very romantic destination. Maybe next year!
