In his classic silky voice, Heston read aloud our favorite Hemingway story, ‘The Snows of Kilimanjaro’. From there, on to a NOVA documentary on the intelligence of the smartest animals: dolphins, elephants… the narrator preaches unusual but logic ideas such as ‘…the elephant society is a family affair, especially for females‘. As it is late, I guess this leaves ‘She Wore a Yellow Ribbon’ or ‘Wings of Eagles’ for tomorrow evening. After ‘The Quiet Man’, admiration for John Ford grows by the day, making it an imperative to see more of his extensive filmography.
