Grateful for these weekends of peace. Much like work is a tonic, so is repairing idleness and rest. I do worry about things down South – a humanitarian catastrophe is unavoidable, it seems, as many of my loved ones continue to survive in a bubble of denial. For how long, though? I pray and stay in touch but often feel the impending proximity of disaster, fearing the worst for that country is getting closer by the day. It is so dreadful, yet all we do – all we can do, it seems, – is wait. And watch. I just wish I could offer more.
